Professor of Medicine and Head of Section of Cardiology. Past President of the Section on Geriatric Cardiology – Spanish Society of Cardiology and Vice-President of the  Ethics Committee of Hospital Gregorio Marañón. Principal Investigator of several Research Projects supported by the Spanish Health Ministry and the Spanish Society of Cardiology and Investigator on three European Union-funded projects.

Fourteen national and international awards, more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and editor of four books. Lectures at international meetings in Europe, America, and Japan. Main research interest relates to heart failure and acute coronary syndromes, in particular in the elderly and in women.
